Once they persuade the mother, who does not want to let them in, Tsubasa and Kurata notice there is a bruise on the boy’s inner thigh. However, when Kurata leaves the house without saying anything, Tsubasa confronts him, asking, “Couldn’t this kind of slow response mean we’ll be too late?” Kurata counters, “It’s not the center’s job to reveal the crimes of the parents.”
The next day, the Child Guidance Center receives an emergency report of child abuse from an elementary school, and it’s about the boy with the bruise…

Impatient and not easily intimidated, her personality frequently leads her to butt heads with Domon.
The cases that are brought to this eccentric forensic investigator and his oddball assistant are all inexplicable. Some of them are even about to go cold. “Science” is their weapon. Using forensic science, they work from small pieces of evidence to find inconsistencies, break down the lies told by those involved, and unveil the sad truth behind the cases.
Domon also has a mysterious past of his own. His forensic analysis once led to a wrongful conviction. In time, Domon will have to face that incident from his past.
