Kanji, the main character, lives only for his work as a bank teller. He accepted the peaceful domesticity of family life and a respectable occupation with no hesitation. Yet one day, it all gets destroyed for an irrational reason. In a state of shock and deep remorse from the unexpected turn of events, Kanji decides to take a solo trip to Switzerland. Kanji comes to the Swiss Alps to lick his wounds, and there, in the midst of a blizzard, he meets a Japanese woman. That woman, Shiori, is also traveling alone. The two hit it off so well that it is nearly impossible to believe they were total strangers to one another. On the other hand, Mariko is suspicious of her husband’s infidelity but is unable to verbalize it. Meanwhile, though, Mariko also falls into a forbidden love with her daughter’s fiance. A forbidden love, and intense emotions.
