Japan is said to be the last country in the world where married couples have the same last name. There is even argument in the halls of government over the introduction of a system of separate surnames for married couples.
In this drama, in light of the global perspective and the current situation…we bring you a slapstick comedy about a pair of renowned police detectives in the Numabukuro precinct of Tokyo who, despite there being no such system, have been using separate surnames to hide their marriage…but that is actually just a cover for a super orthodox analytical mystery police detective drama!

The famous buddy detectives Makoto Yomoda and Asuka Suzuki are the pride of Numabukuro precinct. The two of them are actually married, but the police have an ironclad rule that married couples can not work in the same precinct. There are many reasons for it, such as the possibility criminals could take advantage of their relationship to make threats, that it gets in the way of making rational decisions, the conflict of interest, and the importance of maintaining confidentiality. If it comes out that the two are married, one of them will be transferred. In short, they would be chased out of the Criminal Investigation Division. The conclusion that these two, neither of whom wants to leave their job as a detective, came to was…to hide that they are married! The pair’s exploits as married detectives and their secret private lives will be told comically, while the serial killings that serve as the connecting thread of the story will be thrilling and captivating in this police detective drama which encourages viewer speculation.
