“Couldn’t we make space food?”
It all started with one comment from a student. This non-fiction story that overcame many difficulties to break out of the atmosphere is being adapted into a drama!
A fisheries high school in Fukui Prefecture successfully developed the world’s first space food (the region’s signature product “Yopparai Saba”)! It was a story that took fifteen years. It was thought that only a major food company would be able to create space food. The development was not easy, and the school was at risk of being shut down and merged with another school, but people pulled together through the struggle, passing the baton from senior students to junior students, for a total of 313 people who were involved in opening the door to space.
