It happens at a funeral.
Part-time English conversation school instructor Junko Sakuraba trips at a funeral and falls near the chanting monk, Takane Hoshikawa.
In the ensuing confusion, noise fills the ceremonial hall. Takane is blunt with Junko: “You’re too old to be let off with a pass for being cute.”
Junko is incensed by the remark, but realizes the monk is right.
One day, Junko gives in to her parents and has a prospective arranged marriage interview, but is shocked when the man that shows up is Takane.
The two get into an argument and of course refuse to go through with the marriage process.
However, one thing that Junko said sticks in Takane’s mind, so he decides to attend the English where she works.
Soon after making the acquaintance of Takane, Junko is approached by one male after another, all of whom hope to woo her. T
here’s her friend from their college days; a student of hers at the school; a fellow English teacher from another country…
but the biggest catch is her handsome boss, Shingon Kiyomiya, who’s just come back to Japan from New York.
Junko is shaken by this sudden period of popularity in her life. But her heart also wavers too, between the two men who are polar opposites, Takane and Shingon.
