Ayumu Ichinose discovered the game of Go at a young age, and dedicated his life to becoming a professional Go player. But the professional Go player examination has an age restriction. When Ichinose fails his final chance at the test at the age of 22, Go is closed off to him, and he ends up taking an employment test at a certain general trading company. The test is a month-long internship, and employment would be determined by his performance in that internship.
With no work experience or academic history to speak of, Ichinose is battered by this trading company abuzz with several foreign languages and special trade lingo. But now that he has lost Go, Ichinose decides to fight, knowing that if he backs down now, he really will have nothing left. With a desperation that people mock him for, and an insight and memory trained by Go, Ichinose faces his job head-on to attain a place in the company…
