Hayako would like to get married to someone she truly loves one day. That being said, she isn’t taking any special steps to make this lukewarm desire come true, nor is she particularly anxious about it. But then the wheel of Hayako’s fate begins to spin with a casual question asked by a student of the first-grade teacher.
“Ms. Hayako, are you really going to get married?”
Hayako has no plan, not even a partner, but for some reason, the student’s question makes her start daydreaming about marriage. She turns down an invitation to a matchmaking party from a colleague, Mika, but keeps thinking about it. Meanwhile, her father collapses from overwork and is hospitalized. When Hayako sees her mother prepare tofu in his place with unpracticed hands, she begins thinking seriously about marriage at last. However, Hayake becomes depressed after learning the truth, that it is more difficult than she imagined to find a marriageable partner at the first matchmaking party of her life. She realizes that she was being naive.
