There are children who don’t have a home to return to during Christmas, New
Years, and even tonight. This is a story about Sakura who reaches out to these
children, to blossom a flower of happiness from the tears of despair.

The “House of Hummingbirds,” also referred to as “The Shelter,” is where children who have lost their faith in their parents gather to live. Sakura starts working at the “House” as a food sta , which is managed by a lawyer called Mitani, a rookie lawyer Kawabata, and a former teacher Nabeshima who is now the head of the “House”. However, the children of the “House” directly deny her beliefs as they tell Sakura, “Parent and child makeing an Oyakodon together? Why in the world do we have to be together? Don’t make me laugh.” Nabeshima explains that these children have never been asked what meal they want to eat, therefore has no idea of the joys and desires of eating. Meanwhile, Sakura makes an e ort to tell the children that there are adults who can be trusted in this world through food. Will Sakura be able to keep on reaching out to the children?
