The story centers around female detective, Reiko Himekawa, who was promoted to assistant inspector at the young age of 27, despite originally being a local officer. Kazuo, who is older yet in a lower position, is a serious detective and a man of few words, but on the inside, he has a strong dislike for things that are unfair and has a hidden, yet intense chivalrous spirit, while always playing by the rules. Transferred to the investigative division run by Reiko, he is at first skeptical of her, as she repeats dangerous investigations using her intuition as a weapon. But as they investigate incidents together, Kazuo comes to notice her excellence as an inspector and her personality, and he begins to have special feelings towards her.
