A dumb high school student travels through time to the era of Warring States, assumes the identity of Oda Nobunaga, and aims to unite the country?!
High school student Saburo (Shun Oguri) is visiting a historical theme park while on a school trip when a strange turn of events sends him back in time to the era of Warring States. There, he encounters his doppelganger, the feudal warlord Oda Nobunaga (also played by Oguri). Saburo accepts the lookalike military commander’s request to take his place and live his life as Oda Nobunaga. Soon after he assumes the role, Saburo sets his sights on uniting the country. This series is based on the original popular comic by Ayumi Ishii. With its fresh setting, comedy arising from the clash between a modern-day teenager and people from the era of Warring States, unpredictable story developments, as well as romance and bromance, Nobunaga Concerto is the first historical drama to be shown during the coveted Monday at 9 pm time slot. This super-scaled project began with an anime adaptation, continues with this TV drama series, and will continue with a feature film.
