A woman’s desire is deep. A woman’s bond is just as deep

Nao Miyaji (Yoko Maki) is a housewife that lives in the suburbs together with her husband, who is an engineer that assembles moulds, and her middle school student son. She is an athletic, assertive woman who is satisfied with small sources of everyday happiness, whether it be feeding her son as much food as possible, or hearing a good reputation of the potato salad at her part-time deli. One day, Nao was scouted by Junko Kurosawa (Yuka Itaya), a senior editor of a popular fashion magazine, Vanity, to be a reader model. The ever-popular Yukako Hamaguchi (Michiko Kichise), under the nickname “Hamayuka”, reigns supreme as the cover model of Vanity magazine, with Akira Nanjo (Lily Franky) as the editor-in-chief. Maiko Yasunaga (Kyoko Hasegawa), a successful commentator for information programs, also formerly worked as a fashion model. Eri Okita (Ayumi Ito), who lost her public relations job for a fashion brand, and is now trying to break out as a fashion writer, heard about Nao from Junko, and went out to the suburbs to meet her. Once there, Eri desperately persuaded Nao that she would make her a successful model as if her life depended on it, and invited Nao, who had turned them down once before, to an audition. With the help of Eri, the cameraman, and her hair and makeup artist, Nao went in for a shoot…Is seeming happy what true happiness looks like? These “scheming” women deliver performances full of jealousy, ambition and friendship in this powerful and crazy ensemble drama.
